Trainer: Mick Price
Breeder: Mr FJ Frost
Won: Merson Cooper Stakes, Listed 1000m, Sandown Hillside, November 17

The Mick Price-trained Steal My Kisses (I Am Invincible) looks a filly destined for greater things after an impressive debut victory in the Merson Cooper Stakes (Listed, 1000m) at Sandown on Saturday.

The juvenile broke alertly from her outside barrier (11) and showed plenty of early pace to hold a share of the lead, before taking a clear advantage approaching the 200 metre mark.

The Pendant Equine-owned filly then knuckled down gamely when the challengers emerged from the pack to score relatively comfortably in a good time of 58.21 seconds.

Steal My Kisses is a half-sister to dual Pakenham winner Butch Kissidy (Wanted), who later went on to finish third in a 1500 metre Macau Listed race under the race name of Unselfish Trust.

The pair are out of Thoroughbred Club Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) runner-up The Fairy’s Kiss (Elusive Quality), herself a daughter of the multiple stakes winner and MRC Thousand Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) placegetter Ballet Society (Stravinsky).

Ballet Society has produced four winners from four racing foals and is a sister to three-time Hong Kong victor Conestoga (Stravinsky). The mare is also a half-sister to dual New Zealand Group 1 winner Cent Home (Lord Ballina) and Turnbull Stakes (Gr 2, 2000m) hero Studebaker (Lord Ballina).

The Fairy’s Kiss has a yearling colt by Twin Hills Stud-based stallion Smart Missile (Fastnet Rock) and she foaled a filly foal by Coolmore’s Choisir (Danehill Dancer) earlier this year.
