That Rings A Bell followed up a promising debut second at Sandown-Hillside on 11 January with an impressive victory in the Maiden Plate (1400m) at Sandown Lakeside on Wednesday. The Danny O’Brien-trained filly broke well from barrier five and jockey Nicholas Hall settled her just outside the leader Great Bay (Sharkbite), who set a moderate tempo early on in the race. As the field straightened up she loomed up alongside the leader to easily hit the front to score, beating Sals Reward (Reward For Effort) by four and a quarter lengths in a time of 1:26.70.

The daughter of So You Think (High Chaparral) is the fourth foal out of the placed Catbird (Danehill) mare Cinnamon Bells and the second winner of the four foals to race, making the filly a half-sister the four time winner Cincinnati (Sebring).

Cinnamon Bells herself is a sister to the multiple Group Three-winning mare Catechuchu, while That Rings A Bell’s grandam is a half-sister to the Group Three winner Toy Image (Noble Bijou), Listed winner Lucky Witch (Voodoo Rhythm), who is the dam of Group Three-winning pair Lucky Diva (Perugino) and Spirit Of Westbury (Sir Tristram) and seven time winner Luck Alive, the dam of Listed winners Lucky Tycoon (Last Tycoon) and Secret Status (King Cugat).

In 2014 Cinnamon Bells foaled the unraced Cincity (Sebring), who is trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott. In 2015 she produced a colt by Poet’s Voice (Dubawi), who is catalogued as Lot 406 at this years Inglis Classic Yearling Sale and last year she foaled a filly by Delago Deluxe (Encosta De Lago).
