Vitani (AUS) 3 f Animal Kingdom – Anapine by Anabaa

The Wendy Kelly-trained filly Vitani (Animal Kingdom) followed seconds at her first two starts to score really impressively here.

She began well and was eased to settle well in fourth place, behind a good tempo. She improved on straightening, challenged approaching the 100 metre mark and went on to record a three and a quarter length win over Absolute Heaven (Snippetson) in a winning a time of 1:18.40.

Purchased by her trainer for $160,000 at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the Arrowfield Stud draft, Vitani is out of four time-winning and Group Three-placed mare Anapine (Anabaa), who has had five foals to race for four winners including Listed winner Manapine (Manhattan Rain).

Anapine herself is a sister to Group Three winner Tall Timbers and a half-sister to Taken (Gilded Time).

Further back this is family as Yorkshire Oaks (Gr 1, 1m4f) winner Catchascathcan (Pursuit Of Love), the dam of Group Two winner Antonius Pius (Danzig).

Animal Kingdom (Leroidesanimaux) shuttles to Arrowfield Stud in the Hunter Valley and has sired three stakes winners in total.
