Golden Eagle contender to be offered at Magic Millions
Annabel Neasham hopes the new owner of Sunshine In Paris (Invader) will leave the Surround Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) winner in the Sydney trainer’s care for a tilt at the $10 million Golden Eagle (1500m) in the spring.
The lightly raced three-year-old, who progressed from a Canberra maiden win in November to Group 1 success in February, was yesterday unveiled as the latest high-profile supplementary addition to the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.
Sunshine In Paris, who defeated subsequent Group 1 winners Ruthless Dame (Tavistock) and In Secret (I Am Invincible) in the Surround, will be offered through the Newgate Consignment.
“She’s done such an incredible job already in such a short time,” Neasham said. “We’d always had quite a good opinion of her and what she achieved with the Group 1 so early in her career didn’t surprise us at all.
“Her looks match her record – she’s a cracking type with a massive hindquarter, she’s a very good mover, has strength and length – an ideal filly.
“How good she is we don’t know yet – there is no ceiling. She is one of the most exciting horses and the form around her is elite.
“We put her out after the Surround Stakes and immediately circled the date for the $10 million Golden Eagle and then we are starting to work back from there.
“It would break my heart if she ended up in another stable after the sale. I will be doing everything I can to get her back in my yard and set her for the Golden Eagle. She’s a beautiful filly and has such a bright future.”
Announced a day after Group 2 winner Paris Dior (Pierro) was confirmed as a late entry, Sunshine In Paris will also go through the ring late on day one of the race fillies’ session on May 23.
