A Shinzo filly took centre stage at the Inglis Australian Weanling Sale on Monday, making $600,000 to the bid of SP Bloodstock principal Stefan Pardi.

Catalogued as Lot 43 for Noorilim Park, she was described as a ‘belter’ by the vendor and the buying bench agreed, racing past her reserve during the first hour of trade.

What's On

“She had over 190 inspections, 18 x-rays and quite a few vet inspections,” Noorilim Park owner Peter Carrick revealed.

“Her dam Special Lover has never let us down. We've broken a few records now and I did expect a strong result today. Hopefully, she holds out at the top of the sale.

“We put her on the market at $500,000 and I was taking her home to race if we didn’t get that, so $600,000 was a really good result. She was very busy pre-sale and I think that encouraged me to think we were going to do well.

“My son Glenn made the decision to send Special Lover to Shinzo. I've handed the reins over to him now and he's doing a great job. Don't ask me where she’s going this year. Glenn will sort that out but it will obviously be top-end.”

The $600,000 filly was a positive sale-ring start for Coolmore Stud sire Shinzo (Snitzel), who has 13 first-crop foals catalogued at Riverside Stables. The 2023 Golden Slipper Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner was an ideal cross over Special Lover (Pins), who descends from New Zealand icon Eight Carat (Pieces Of Eight).

We put her on the market at $500,000 and I was taking her home to race if we didn’t get that, so $600,000 was a really good result. She was very busy pre-sale and I think that encouraged me to think we were going to do well

Peter Carrick

Her first filly Miss Roseiano (Exceed And Excel) won the 2022 MRC Blue Diamond Preview (Gr 3, 1000m) and was subsequently purchased by Tom Magnier for $1.27 million at an Inglis Digital Sale.

Pardi has raced numerous winners with Ciaron Maher and the champion trainer followed up with $260,000 for an Anamoe (Street Boss) colt (Lot 103) from Cannon Hayes Stud. His dam Vaayala (Volksraad) is a half-sister to Dundeel (High Chaparral) and she has already thrown the Snitzel stakes performers Valalie and Rockland.

SP Bloodstock was also active in the afternoon paying $400,000 to Coolmore Stud for a Frankel (Galileo) colt (Lot 167) in association with Tasmanian-based Grenville Stud owners Graeme and Bart McCulloch.

Peter Carrick (Credit: Inglis)

“He will come back here for the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale next year,” Pardi said. “Frankel was a world-beater as a racehorse and he’s doing just as well at stud.”

The colt is from Irish-bred mare Awhile (War Front) who was a Fairyhouse winner for Aidan O’Brien. She is a full-sister to Ruby Stakes (Listed, 1m) winner So Wonderful and her first foal Wooten Warrior (Wootton Bassett) won over 1100 metres earlier this year in New Orleans.

Fairhill Farm continued its successful association with Darley shuttler Harry Angel (Dark Angel) on Monday, selling his half-brother to Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) heroine Hayasugi (Royal Meeting) for $360,000.

The well-built youngster was purchased by Shane McGrath Bloodstock and Melbourne trainer Clinton McDonald.

“We’ve bought him with some of Clinton’s stable clients and let’s hope lightning strikes twice,” McGrath said. “He’s an exciting prospect and is the image of his half-sister in many ways.”

Fairhill sold a Harry Angel colt from Ragazze (Snitzel) for $220,000 at the 2025 Inglis Foal Sale and Fairhill owner Mike O’Donnell sent the mare to Farnan (Not A Single Doubt) this season.

Coolmore’s immediate stud success Home Affairs (I Am Invincible) had five colts make the Top 10 leaderboard on Day 1 led by a Parsons Creek graduate (Lot 68) that was knocked down for $290,000 to Tasman Bloodstock.

“First and foremost he’s by Home Affairs and what’s he’s doing now is just the tip of the iceberg,” Coolmore Stud’s Tom Moore said in an accurate assessment of their gun freshman.

“There are plenty more at home and we can’t get enough of them.”

Home Affairs has the 2025-26 Australian First-Season Sires’ title all wrapped up and he took over at the top of the Australian 2YO Sires’ premiership from Snitzel when Marffiano won the $250,000 VOBIS Gold Rush (1100m) at Bendigo on Saturday. Weanlings at this sale made at least two-times the service fee on which they were conceived.

Parsons Creek bred the colt using Home Affairs over British-bred mare Telopea (Pivotal) who won six of her 20 starts out here, culminating in the VRC Leilani Series Final (1400m) at Flemington.

Fairhill Farm made early inroads with a $250,000 Home Affairs – Sahra (Hinchinbrook) colt (Lot 3) purchased by Victorian buyer Matt Davidson. Sahra was a Canterbury winner for Peter and Paul Snowden and she’s a half-sister to the dam of MRC Blue Diamond Preview (Listed, 1000m) winner Mohave (Exceed And Excel).

The Home Affairs half-brother to Levin Classic (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Age Of Fire (Fastnet Rock) (Lot 234) also made good money for Fairhill when purchased by NZ-based Carlaw Park for $225,000.

Lot 3: Home Affairs ex Sahra colt (Credit: Inglis)

Australian Bloodstock director Jamie Lovett weighed in with $220,000 for the Home Affairs - Andalusia (Brazen Beau) colt (Lot 154) from Cannon Hayes Stud. The dam is a Brazen Beau (I Am Invincible) daughter of VRC Desirable Stakes (Listed, 1200m) winner Palomares (Commands).

“He’s a typical son of the sire,” Lovett said.  “He stamps them and we came here knowing you have to pay for a Home Affairs now that they’re up and winning.”

Inglis Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch said it was pleasing to see the Day 1 statistics.  “A higher profile cross section of vendors meant the calibre of the catalogue encouraged the buying bench to bid with conviction..

“The uncertainty earlier this year due to outside circumstances was less prevalent. The local and international buying bench is now more pragmatic and we felt that momentum leading up to the Weanling Sale.”

Morning Briefing

Yellow Brick lands delayed $1 million The Archer

Yellow Brick (The Mission) strengthened his Stradbroke Handicap (Gr 1, 1400m) claims when resuming with victory in Tuesday’s The Archer (1300m) at Rockhampton, giving Tony and Maddysen Sears a second seven-figure payday with the gelding this year. The $1 million feature, transferred from Sunday after concerns over sections of the home straight, was taken out in decisive fashion by the six-year-old, who was ridden patiently by Tommy Berry before surging clear over the final furlong to score by 1.1 lengths from Anemacore (Unusual Suspect), with Boomtown Boss (Spirit Of Boom) a further 0.2 lengths away in third. Yellow Brick was having his first start since the Magic Millions carnival, where he landed the $1.5 million Magic Millions Quality (1300m), and Berry said the trip north had been worthwhile. The win was Yellow Brick’s tenth from 29 starts and pushed his earnings to just shy of $4 million. Maddysen Sears said the result carried special significance for the family. “It’s just really special,” co-trainer Maddysen Sears said. “My grandma’s here to watch, all my family come out to do it. We brought the right horse up and someone told me a couple of days before, a very good trainer in Melbourne said he’s going to win for fun and he did. He’s the pivotal horse for my career. Anyone that knows me, knows my family, this horse is this horse is so special.” Tommy Berry said the race unfolded as expected and praised the team’s effort to have the gelding ready despite the delay. “They just wanted me to make sure I got room,” he said. “He’s a big horse and he takes a little bit of winding up, but it was a good effort today. Because he was first up and he was a little bit keen in the run and being on the fresh side. Great effort by the team to get him ready, to get him ready twice too for today. It was worth coming back for, for the second time. He’s definitely got a good carnival ahead. They’ve got some nice races mapped out for him.”

Wet ground to suit La Fracas at Warrnambool

La Fracas (Credit: Sportpix)

La Fracas (Night Of Thunder) will get his chance to preserve his unbeaten record on heavy ground when he lines up in Wednesday’s Wangoom Handicap (Listed, 1200m) at Warrnambool, with Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr hopeful the imported sprinter can finally strike his preferred conditions again. The gelding is three from three on heavy tracks, his most recent such win coming at Sandown on July 2 last year when he scored by 2.8 lengths, and the training pair have had to wait longer than expected to find similar ground this campaign. They even took him to Sydney in search of rain-affected footing, but the worst surface he encountered was a Soft 6 when he finished seventh in the Star Kingdom Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m). Mick Price said the stable had deliberately targeted suitable races for the mudlark and had been frustrated not to strike wetter going sooner. "I try to have him fit and well for the right races on wet surfaces," Price said. "We even had him in Sydney trying to catch the wet tracks but they didn't come, strangely enough. But I'm happy with him, his action is great and I think he'll run very well." Warrnambool was rated a Heavy 8 before Tuesday’s opening day and, while little rain was forecast for the first day of the carnival, as much as 15mm was predicted on Wednesday. "The difficulty with Warrnambool I've found over the years with my horses, albeit we've trained some winners there, is that you can have a wet tracker that doesn't handle that choppy surface," he said. "But he's going very well and I think he'll be beautifully suited because it's a tough 1200 [metres] there and he's a tough 1200-metre horse." Price said the state of the surface by race time would be crucial, noting some wet-track horses do not handle Warrnambool’s chopped-up ground late in the carnival, but added La Fracas was going well. He will carry 54.5 kilograms, jump from barrier three and be ridden by Beau Mertens.

McArdle savours Divine Dot’s Warrnambool success

Divine Dot (Credit: Racing Photos)

Divine Dot (Overshare) provided John McArdle with a hometown success when she dominated Tuesday's VOBIS Gold Strike (1000m) on the opening day of Warrnambool May Carnival, but the trainer said any thought of celebrating at the track to give way to a more important commitment. The two-year-old filly, who had been entered for Saturday’s VOBIS Gold Rush (1100m) at Bendigo before a poor draw prompted a change of plans, made the most of the switch as she jumped straight to the front under Jamie Mott and was never seriously threatened, handling the heavy ground to score by 1.5 lengths over Unkechaug (Blue Point). McArdle said he would be heading home rather than staying on course, with his wife’s birthday taking priority. “I will be back for Mrs McArdle’s birthday, I’m driving the truck, so my blood alcohol will be double zero,” McArdle told Racing.com. “My older brother did say, ‘we can find a box for her’ [Divine Dot] down here, but no, I’ve got to get home and do some work, and if I don’t turn up for her birthday, she might take the horse off me - she did breed it and is an owner. I’ve got to go home and make sure the owner is happy.” McArdle said the result might not have happened had Divine Dot drawn more favourably at Bendigo. “If she had drawn better, we would have run at Bendigo,” he told Racing.com. “I’m a Warrnambool boy originally, so it’s always good to come home and win a race.” He added the stable had been happy to let the filly use her natural speed. “She’s shown good speed in all of her trials and it was the old Peter Moody adage - ‘let fast horses be fast’,” he said. “Jamie [Mott] knows her well - he’s ridden her in her trials and he rode her last start at Geelong. It was jump, put her on the bunny, then all good from there.” The filly, a debut winner at Mornington in December, is out of the winning Bel Esprit (Royal Academy) mare Miracle To Me and is closely related to dual Listed winner Skyrocket (Danehill).

Tycoon Star gets widest barrier in The Goodwood

Tycoon Star (Written Tycoon) will have to overcome the outside draw if he is to give Lindsay Park a breakthrough win in Saturday’s The Goodwood (Gr 1, 1200m) at Morphettville, but Ben, Will and JD Hayes are confident the colt is a genuine chance after his last-start Tobin Bronze Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) victory. Ben Hayes said the reapplication of visors had made a difference, while the ride from James McDonald had also played an important part in the performance. “I think the visors did the trick,” Hayes said. “It was a tough win also as he sat wide throughout and he won quite nicely, but I also got a big kick out of James riding his first winner in South Australia.” McDonald will not be aboard on Saturday, with the jockey committed to the Hollindale Stakes (Gr 2, 1800m) on the Gold Coast, and Luke Currie takes over. Tycoon Star has also fared poorly at the draw, coming up with barrier 16, but Hayes said the three-year-old had been kept back from the early autumn with this race in mind. “An interesting stat about him, he’s never not run in a Stakes race,” Hayes said. “He’s been a very good horse, for a long time, running against the best and he’s always been thereabouts. We purposely held him back from the early autumn to target this race and hopefully it can all align and he can run well.” Tycoon Star has remained in Adelaide since his latest win and Hayes said the colt had thrived away from home. “Ash, who has been looking after him, said he has been bright and well and really enjoying it,” he said. “We’re really excited and think he’s a genuine chance. If he can win that race, he’s got a pretty good page behind him, and being Group 1 placed and a Stakes winner as a two-year-old, you never know. He’s racing for his future, but three-year-olds in the Goodwood have a good record.”

Kiwi Platinum Pantheon earns Guineas shot

Exciting three-year-old gelding Platinum Pantheon (Hanseatic) has made his way across the Tasman where he will commence his Queensland campaign this weekend. The son of Hanseatic (Street Boss) has been in solid form for trainer Lisa Latta this season, winning four of his seven starts, and earned his ticket to Australia with a runner-up performance behind Drops Of God (Hello Youmzain) in the Cambridge Breeders’ Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) at Te Rapa on ANZAC Day. Latta began to map out a Queensland plan for Platinum Pantheon following his victory over 1200 metres at Tauranga in March, and she was pleased he has continued his purple patch of form with his last start Group placing. “He went really well in the Cambridge Breeders’, and I think the draw just beat him,” Latta said. Platinum Pantheon arrived in Australia on Monday morning in preparation for Saturday’s Gold Coast Guineas (Gr 3, 1200m), with his weekend performance dictating future plans. “He is nominated for the Gold Coast Guineas this Saturday and then we will go along from there, there are a couple of nice three-year-old races,” Latta said.

Noffke bidding to snare another bargain buy

Fred Noffke is hoping to land another high-profile horse for a cheap price after he purchased Lot 173 during Tuesday’s opening day of the Inglis Australian Weanling Sale. The juvenile daughter of Brave Smash (Tosen Phantom) is out of the three-time winning Savabeel (Zabeel) mare Belle Of The Ball, who placed at up to Group 3 level. The filly was purchased for $50,000 by Noffke, who managed to acquire recent dual Group 1 winner Sheza Alibi (Saxon Warrior) for $10,000 off the 2023 Inglis June (Early) Online Sale.

Marsh mares add further quality to Gavelhouse Plus auction

Hitabell (Credit: Gavelhouse)

An upcoming Gavelhouse Plus auction that was already confirmed to contain Haunui Farm-Frantic Bloodstock mares Rondinella (Ocean Park), Sudbina (Almanzor) and Tinnelly (O’Reilly) has been further boosted by the addition of two stakes winning members of Stephen Marsh’s Cambridge stable.

Stephen Marsh Racing will offer Group 2 winner Hitabell (Embellish) and dual Listed winner Glamour Tycoon (Written Tycoon) in a high-quality online offering.

“They’ve been two standout mares for us and it’s now at the stage of their careers where it’s time to offer them to the market as breeding prospects,” Marsh said. “I’m sure they’ll all have their share of admirers on Gavelhouse Plus and will be quality additions to anyone’s broodmare band.”

This will be the second time Hitabell has been auctioned on Gavelhouse Plus. The daughter of Embellish (Svabaeel) was offered by Henley Park during the 2023 National Online Yearling Sale, where Stephen Marsh Racing and Dylan Johnson Bloodstock bought her for $9,500.

Hitabell has turned that purchase price into more than $233,000 in stakes from an eight-race career. She won three times as a three-year-old last season including the Eight Carat Classic (Gr 2, 1600m) and the O’Learys Fillies’ Stakes (Listed, 1340m).

Her three appearances as a four-year-old this season included a close second behind the quality sprinter Master Fay (Deep Field) in a 1200-metre open handicap at Ellerslie, followed by a sixth, only three lengths from the winner Ardalio (Ardrossan), in the Counties Bowl (Gr 3, 1100m) at Pukekohe.

“She’s been a very classy mare who was really fast over the sprint distances but also showed that she could run out a strong mile,” Marsh said. “She was a very good winner of the Listed race at Wanganui, then stepped up and beat a strong field in the Eight Carat at Ellerslie on Boxing Day, one of our premier fillies races.

“She’s a high-class mare, beautifully put together and should be highly sought after.”

Stephen Marsh Racing secured Glamour Tycoon (Written Tycoon) from Book 1 of Karaka 2022, where she was a member of the Highline Thoroughbreds draft and cost $220,000. She has had 21 starts for five wins, ten placings and $315,710 in prize-money.

Like Hitabell, Glamour Tycoon won the O’Learys Fillies’ Stakes at Wanganui as a spring three-year-old. She went on to add the Lightning Handicap (Listed, 1200m) at Trentham last season, and she also placed in the Sweynesse Stakes (Gr 3, 1215m) as well as the Flying Handicap (Listed, 1400m) and Waikato Equine Veterinary Centre 2YO Stakes (Listed, 1200m).

“She’s beautifully bred, being by Written Tycoon, and mares by him are absolute gold,” Marsh said. “She won twice at stakes level and recorded multiple other black-type placings, from her two-year-old season right through to as an older horse. I feel like we never really saw the absolute best of her, in my opinion she was a genuine Group 1 sprinter. She’s a cracking mare who should have a lot to offer in the broodmare paddock.”

Nicholas checking off goals in standout season

Elen Nicholas (Credit: Race Images)

Cambridge apprentice jockey Elen Nicholas has been riding in New Zealand for the last nine seasons, but it hasn’t been until the last 12 months that she has been able to string together a decent amount of time in the saddle. That has shown in her results, with the Welsh native enjoying her best season, with 51 wins to date, including two at stakes level, with nearly $1.8 million in earnings, more than tripling her previous best term. Last Saturday at Te Rapa she marked a full year of being injury-free, having previously been sidelined for well over a year after sustaining several injuries from a race fall, and she thought she may never return to the saddle on raceday. “My partner, Shaun Phelan, had a word with me [after the fall] and said if I thought about going back riding I was to give it at least 12 months before making any decision,” Nicholas said. “When the 12 months was up, I started to think about it more and I really missed riding and my body felt good, so I started making a noise about coming back riding. Shaun’s initial reaction was ‘absolutely not’, but I gradually wore him down and I am really glad that I did come back riding because I think if your body is well and your brain still wants to do it, you will probably regret it if you didn’t. I am just hanging in there in the top ten [of the jockeys’ premiership] and it is something I am keen on trying to keep. It is pretty cool to be right up there through the season and to be second on the apprentice premiership.”

Timing is everything for breeders, and there can't be many who’ve shown a better knack for it lately than Tammy and Rod Notman of Northmore Farm, who’ll present their power-packed second Inglis Chairman’s Sale draft this Thursday.

The dam of Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner and $5.5 million filly Streisand (Magnus) and a half-sister to winning streak marvel Jigsaw (Manhattan Rain) are among the highlights of the Victorian stud’s eight-mare draft for the Inglis glamour sale.

For good measure their selection also includes a three-quarter sister to dual elite victor and freshly minted stakes-winning producer Viddora (I Am Invincible), and a full-sister to multiple stakes winner Arkansaw Kid (Harry Angel).

Northmore, which has been running for nine years, first ventured to the Chairman’s Sale last year in selling two lots including Cranberries (Nicconi) for $300,000, who’s since delivered Lime Country Thoroughbreds a highly-rated filly by Street Boss (Street Cry).

But that initial foray is set to be put well into the shade by Northmore this time around.

Two years ago, the Murchison farm bought a filly by Magnus (Flying Spur) out of Zouper Star (Zoustar) for just $22,000 at the Inglis Great Southern Weanling Sale.

She was pinhooked for $100,000 at the 2025 Premier Yearling Sale, bought by trainer Clinton McDonald and agent Shane McGrath. Northmore stayed in for ten per cent, the filly was given the name Streisand, and the early reports from the stable were encouraging.

Motivated by McDonald’s stable updates, the Notmans tracked down Zouper Star and bought her privately, in-foal to Nicconi (Bianconi), with a thought to soon selling her.

Streisand then debuted in early October with a 0.1 length second in Flemington’s Maribyrnong Trial Stakes (Listed, 1000m), and six days later, Zouper Star had her Nicconi colt.

A few months after that, Streisand gave her dam’s CV an enormous boost by winning the Blue Diamond Prelude (Gr 2, 1100m) and the Group 1 main event two weeks later, before a brave second in the Golden Slipper (Gr 1, 1200m).

Streisand was subsequently sold to Yulong for $5.5 million. Not only did the Notman’s ten per cent stake reward them handsomely - Streisand had also won $2.4 million on the track - but the filly has given them an enormous boost in their move to sell Zouper Star at the Chairman’s.

“We’d got the inside info that Streisand was going to go early,” Tammy Notman told ANZ News. “So we chased up the mare and bought her privately from her owners.

“And then to think Streisand has gone on to be a $5 million filly - that’s pretty amazing.”

Rod Notman already had a connection to Zouper Star, a two-time winner at Geelong and Ararat from six starts. A farrier, Notman was engaged by Zouper Star’s breeders Woodside Park several years ago, and tended her feet from virtually the day she was born.

“She’s the most beautiful mare,” Tammy Notman said of the ten-year-old Zouper Star, who’s being sold empty, as Lot 25

Lot 68: Hot And Icy (Credit: Inglis)

“She’s got a beautiful head, deep girth, great hindquarter, big hip. She’s 16 hands and she’s got a huge, powerful walk on her, and a great demeanour. She’s cool and calm. Nothing fazes her.”

While stable mail about Streisand might have informed the purchase of Zouper Star, the buying of Northmore’s mare Lumosity (Foxwedge) has been enriched by a huge amount of serendipity.

Northmore bought her via Inglis Digital last September for just $8,000, commensurate with the fact she’d managed just one placing - a third on the Pakenham synthetic - among six starts.

She did have a stakes-winning half-brother as a stablemate in the Cindy Alderson yard named Jigsaw, but that wasn’t much of a drawcard at the time. He was now seven, and hadn’t won in two-and-a-half years.

A month after the Notmans bought his half-sister, Jigsaw won again.

And he hasn’t stopped winning since, in a remarkable seven-race stretch including two top-tier events in Ellerslie’s Railway (Gr 1, 1200m) and Caulfield’s William Reid Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m), and most recently the $5 million The Quokka (1200m) at Ascot last month.

Northmore will now offer the four-year-old Lumosity as Lot 84, with the juicy bonus of her being in-foal to Darley’s Broadsiding (Too Darn Hot).

“I bought her online, off the track and empty, and got her in-foal to Broadsiding. Jigsaw hadn’t won a race for a long time and now he’s come out and shot the lights out,” Notman said.

“It’s been perfect timing really.

“It’s always been our plan to buy mares, get them in-foal and sell them. And Lumosity is a very strong mare with a lovely head, a good shoulder and a very deep girth, so obviously we’re hoping she’ll sell well, especially considering what Jigsaw has done.”

Northmore’s well-related Lot 68 - the four-year-old Hot And Icy (Hellbent) - is being offered in-foal to Harry Angel (Dark Angel).

She’s a three-quarter sister to dual Group 1-winning sprinter Viddora (I Am Invincible), and in another slice of exquisite timing, around the same time that Northmore bought Hot And Icy last spring, Viddora became a stakes-winning producer when her second foal Grand Prairie (Written Tycoon) won Rosehill’s Up And Coming Stakes (Gr 3, 1300m).

“Once again it’s all worked out perfectly,” Notman said.

Lot 77: Just Kick (Credit: Inglis)

“She’s a beautiful, classy mare. I say she’s like an Elle McPherson in her walk - she’s so elegant. She got in-foal to Harry Angel from her first cover.”

Northmore’s draft kicks off with Lot 23 - Wollemia Angel (Harry Angel) - for prominent “Grinzinger” owner John Wheeler. The four-year-old recorded one Bairnsdale win and seven placings in 14 starts for Danny O’Brien.

While she’s empty after missing to Shamexpress (O’Reilly) in December, soon after that her full-brother Arkansaw Kid earned his second elite placing when second to the aforementioned Jigsaw in Ellerslie’s Railway.

“She’s a lovely, very roomy mare with a good attitude, and she’s very much shaped like Harry Angel himself,” Notman said of Wollemia Angel.

Northmore’s draft has one selection offered as a racing or breeding proposition, the Emma-Lee and David Brown-trained Just Kick (Staphanos), as Lot 77.

The three-year-old filly is twice-placed in Melbourne city class among nine starts, and ran in the Australasian Oaks (Gr 1, 2000m) at her last start.

“She ran sensational sectionals in the Oaks, and has just been a bit unlucky,” Notman said.

Rounding out Northmore’s draft is Lot 78, Kansherun (The Autumn Sun), a five-year-old who’s won one of 13 in country Victoria for Mark and Levi Kavanagh, and Crumpets (Zoustar), a winner at 1200 metres and from the same family as Queensland Oaks (Gr 1, 2200m) winner You Wahng (So You Think), who’s offered as Lot 49.
