Classy line-up of new recruits to hit NSW

Having taken a look at the new stallions hitting Victoria for 2026 on Tuesday, today is the turn of New South Wales. We take a look at 11 of the state’s fledgling recruits as the stallions prepare for upcoming parades.
The new addition with the highest profile to Australian viewers is likely Darley’s Tentyris (Street Boss), a dual Group 1 scorer on the track that will be introduced at a fee of $88,000 (all fees inc GST).

A son of Street Boss (Street Cry), who stands at Darley’s Northwood Park in Victoria, the rising four-year-old enjoyed a stellar racing career.
Winning the Todman Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) as a juvenile, Tentyris would go on to land both the Coolmore Stud Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) and Lightning Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m).
His win in the Coolmore came in a record time and the Lightning Stakes success provided him with a Group 1 victory at weight-for-age level. In doing so, he became only the fourth three-year-old colt to win the Lightning in the past 25 years.
“Tentyris was a top class two-year-old, a multiple stakes-winning two-year-old. After a narrow defeat in the Blue Diamond and a brilliant win in the Todman he unfortunately missed his opportunity in the Slipper,” Godolphin Australia’s managing director, Andy Makiv, said.
“As a three-year-old, his stunning win in the Coolmore was breathtaking and his win in the Lightning, spinetingling.”

Bred and raced by Godolphin, Tentyris is a half-brother to winner Dios (Lonhro) out of the winning Exceed And Excel (Danehill) mare Deity, herself a half-sister to Listed winners Maternal (Street Cry) and Eleusa (Redoute’s Choice) being out of the Group 1-winning mare Divine Madonna (Hurricane Sky).
Another big-priced new addition to the NSW stallion ranks is Super Seth (Dundeel), the rising ten-year-old that has made the move from New Zealand’s Waikato Stud to Coolmore’s Jerry’s Plains-based farm after a huge deal was brokered for the sire earlier this year.
A winner of the Caulfield Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) on the track back in 2019, Super Seth was crowned New Zealand Champion First Season Sire in 2024 and also added the Second Season Sires’ title the following year.
With yearlings selling for up to $950,000 in 2026, and four Group 1 winners already in the bank, Super Seth has been introduced at Coolmore at a fee of $137,500 – meaning he has the equal-sixth highest stallion fee in Australia.
“Super Seth has been on our radar for a while now and he strikes us as a stallion that can make a significant impact on the Australian breeding industry,” Coolmore Australia principal Tom Magnier said.
“For a young horse, the trajectory that he is on is something that is very rarely seen. To produce three Group 1 winners in Australia from his first crop including two Guineas winners and follow it up with a Champion Two-Year-Old in his second, is an amazing achievement. He is going to be ideal for so many Australian mares, both physically and on pedigree.”
Coolmore’s other new addition for 2026 will be Delacroix (Dubawi), who is shuttling over from the operation’s Irish base and will stand at a fee of $38,500.
A Group 3 winner and narrow Group 1 runner-up at two, the four-year-old son of Dubawi (Dubai Millennium) excelled as a three-year-old, landing a pair of Group 3 successes on his return before wins in the Coral-Eclipse (Gr 1, 1m 2f) and Irish Champion Stakes (Gr 1, 1m 2f) – the former win seeing him overcome one of the world’s best in Ombudsman (Night Of Thunder).
Bred by the Tepin Syndicate and raced in Derrick Smith’s Coolmore silks, Delacroix really is a stallion bred in the purple. He is a half-brother to Group 1 winner Grateful (Galileo) being the fourth foal out of the outstanding six-time elite-level scorer Tepin (Bernstein), herself a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Vyjack (Into Mischief).
Having already established a mainstay base in Victoria, fellow powerhouse operation Yulong now has an arm in NSW after taking over the historic Segenhoe Stud.
Standing at their new base will be stallion recruits Devil Night (Extreme Choice) and Private Harry (Harry Angel), joining current sires Alabama Express (Redoute’s Choice) and shuttler Lucky Vega (Lope De Vega), who have also made the journey from Victoria for the 2026 season.
A $1.4 million purchase for Yulong out of his breeder Kingstar Farm's draft at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Devil Night is a son of Newgate's phenomenon Extreme Choice (Not A Single Doubt) and is a half‑brother to dual Group 3 winner Our Playboy (Sebring) being out of the Shamardal (Giant’s Causeway) mare Mischief Night, herself a half-sister to Group 1 scorer and current Yulong sire Pierata (Pierro).
Having debuted with a courageous second in the Blue Diamond Prelude (Gr 3, 1100m), the colt then backed up a fortnight later to land the Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) itself, defeating Tentyris and emulating his sire in the process.
Returning as a three-year-old, Devil Night continued to produce at the top level, finishing runner‑up in the Zeditave Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) and third in the weight-for-age William Reid Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m). His fee has been set at $33,000.

Meanwhile, Private Harry is the first son of Harry Angel (Dark Angel) to retire to stud. Bred by Rheinwood Pastoral, the colt was purchased by Kurrinda Bloodstock and Doyle Racing for a fee of $115,000 at the 2023 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale before then being acquired by Yulong in a private deal.
A winner of The Galaxy (Gr 1, 1100m), Private Harry also scored in the inaugural $3 million Sunlight Plate (1100m), where he defeated subsequent Golden Slipper (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Lady Of Camelot (Written Tycoon).
“Devil Night is a hugely exciting addition to our 2026 stallion roster. He’s by Extreme Choice, a sire with an incredible strike rate himself, and a Group 1-winning two-year-old like his sire, who trained on to beat elite sprinters at weight-for-age," Yulong’s chief operating officer, Sam Fairgray, said.
“Private Harry offers elite-level consistency and some of the fastest sectionals we’ve seen in recent years, everything you expect from a sire line renowned for pure speed. He’s also a strong, masculine, good-looking colt with plenty of substance, exactly the type of speed breeders gravitate towards.”

A pair of stallions that will stand for an introductory fee of $27,500 are Arrowfield’s shuttler Lead Artist (Dubawi) and Vinery’s recent Oakleigh Plate (Gr 1, 1100m) hero Tropicus (Too Darn Hot).
The former, who was bred and raced in the colours of Juddmonte Farms, was a dual Group 3 winner at three before returning as a four-year-old to land the prestigious Lockinge Stakes (Gr 1, 1m) at Newbury.
He is the first foal out of the Group 2-winning Frankel (Galileo) mare Obligate, herself out of an unraced half-sister to elite-level winner and breed-shaping stallion Dansili (Danehill) and fellow Group 1 winners Banks Hill (Danehill), Cacique (Danehill) and Champs Elysees (Danehill).
“I haven’t been more excited about a stallion since Danehill,” Arrowfield’s John Messara said. “I haven’t seen a pedigree like this, with that level of pre-potency on both sides, anywhere. He’s by Dubawi, who’s one of the hottest stallions in the world, he’s out of a Frankel mare – it’s a pedigree from heaven."
Meanwhile, February’s Oakleigh scorer Tropicus is the highest-rated sprinting son of Too Darn Hot (Dubawi) to be retired to stud.
Bred and raced by Kia Ora Stud, the rising five-year-old carried the highest weight to victory in the Oakleigh since the introduction of weight metrics in 1973 and no colt has rated higher to win the Oakleigh Plate over the past ten years.

“Tropicus is already attracting strong support in his first season,” Vinery's general manager Adam White said. “As a Group 1-winning sprinter by Too Darn Hot, he offers breeders access to an exceptional sireline and profiles as a horse capable of producing early runners.”
Rounding off our selection of new NSW-based stallions are Newgate’s Wodeton (Wootton Bassett), Newhaven’s Cool Archie (Cool Aza Beel) and Evergreen Stud’s Reserve Bank (Capitalist) – with all three standing for a fee of $16,500.
A four-length winner on debut in his only start outside stakes company, Wodeton produced top-class placings in the Golden Slipper and Golden Rose (Gr 1, 1400m), as well as a further four Group-race placings.
Bred by Segenhoe Stud, the son of late shuttler Wootton Bassett (Iffraaj) was purchased for $1.6 million by Tom Magnier for Coolmore – who have joined forces with Newgate to stand the colt.
“He demolished a quality field on debut and was denied Golden Slipper glory by the narrowest possible margin,” Newgate’s Henry Field said. “He was the highest-rated colt of his generation and came within a nose of Australian racing immortality.”
Cool Archie was also a high-quality juvenile, landing the Spirit Of Boom Classic (Gr 2, 1200m), BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (Gr 2, 1400m) and J.J. Atkins Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m) during the 2024-25 campaign.
Bred by Newhaven, the son of Cool Aza Beel (Savabeel) was purchased for $100,000 by Mick Malone Bloodstock at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and will return home to his birthplace for the 2026 breeding season.
“There have been very few two-year-olds capable of putting together five wins in succession, four of those being long-established Queensland stakes races, and for me that is one of his major selling points," Newhaven principal John Kelly said.
“His JJ Atkins win confirmed his credentials as a stallion prospect, and when it became clear his racing career had ended, we were very keen to bring him home to Newhaven.”
Finally, 2025 The Goodwood (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Reserve Bank secured his stud future when he was purchased by Botty’s Bloodstock via the inaugural Inglis Digital Bull Ring Sale last month. Standing at Evergreen Stud, not far from Newcastle airport in Heatherbrae, Reserve Bank was the last stallion announced and may be the first to be seen by those planning their tours next month.
