Share in Charm Stone tops Inglis September (Late) Online Sale

A ten per cent share in Group 1-winning mare Charm Stone (I Am Invincible) topped the Inglis September (Late) Online Sale when selling for $310,000, the second highest price for a racehorse share on the platform this year.

Charm Stone (I Am Invincible), a winner of the Robert Sangster Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) in April and three other stakes races, is set to line up in the Manikato Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) at The Valley on Friday night for trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr.

The ten per cent share – purchased by Walnut Farm – was offered by Rob Cummings and was the subject of fierce competition, with three individual bidders over the $250,000 mark.

“I’m very happy with the result,” Cummings said. “I’m downsizing my breeding operation and Will Stott – who looks after me at Inglis – advised me to list the share on Inglis Digital.

“Inglis did a great job with the marketing and Will goes above and beyond. The ownership group have been great, I’m still good friends with them and I wish them, and the new part-owner, the best of luck with her Friday night and into the future.”

The second-top lot was three-year-old colt Valedictorian (Zoustar), who sold to Eric Yeung for $200,000.

Valedictorian, out of the Group 3-winning mare Lady Cosmology (Universal Ruler), was offered by James Harron Bloodstock on behalf of the ownership group.

In total, the September (Late) Sale grossed $2,919,050 with Braveheart (I Am Invincible) ($110,000 to Executive Racing Club), Field Of Myrtle (Deep Field) ($110,000 to Kianben Bloodstock) and a juvenile Castelvecchio (Dundeel) colt from Miss Helsinki (Hussonet) ($100,000 to Monarch Racing Syndications) also selling for six figures.

In 2025, there have been 111 lots sold for $100,000 or more so far. Entries will close for the October (Early) Sale next Wednesday, October 1. The sale will run October 3-8. To enter click here.
