Coleman share tops Inglis Digital April (Early) Sale
A ten per cent share in Golden Slipper (Gr 1, 1200m) runner-up Coleman (Pierata) topped the Inglis Digital April (Early) Sale on Wednesday, selling for $405,000 to STBT Bloodstock.
Offered by Carringbush Park, the dual Group 1-placed colt realised the highest-priced racehorse share in a colt or gelding ever sold on Inglis Digital.
The son of Pierata (Pierro) was the highest rated juvenile of his generation and the first colt home in the Golden Slipper won by Lady Of Camelot (Written Tycoon) last March, before a fine third in the Sires’ Produce (Gr 1, 1400m).
The dual stakes winner returned as a three-year-old, with his second place in the Roman Consul Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) behind Switzerland (Snitzel) the highlight of five runs.
Now in the care of Chris Waller, Coleman trialled well at Warwick Farm on Monday and will be aimed at upcoming races like the Doomben 10,000 (Gr 1, 1200m) and the Stradbroke Handicap (Gr 1, 1400m).
“For buyers and sellers of racehorse shares, Inglis Digital continues to provide unequivocal success,’’ the platform’s business manager Nick Melmeth said.
“The increase in popularity of people wanting to offer shares – be it 2.5 per cent or 50 per cent – has been astronomical and that’s added another significant aspect to each catalogue that probably wasn’t there in such strength and numbers a couple of years ago.
“The buyers have reacted accordingly, the racehorse shares section each and every sale is one of the most highly active elements of the catalogue and today’s fabulous result with Coleman is further evidence that Inglis Digital provides an incredible opportunity for people who are looking to take advantage of the robust and lucrative market that is consistently facilitated on Inglis Digital.”
Wednesday’s second-top lot was the Bout (Artie Schiller), a sister to Blue Diamond (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Flying Artie, who was offered in foal to Shinzo (Snitzel) by Goodwood Farm and sold to Headline Thoroughbreds for $120,000.
In total, the April (Early) Sale grossed $2,958,050.
Entries for the April (Late) Online Sale (April 25-30) are now open and will remain so until midnight on Wednesday, April 23.
