Magic Millions release National Yearling Sale catalogue

Magic Millions have released the catalogue for their 2025 Gold Coast National Yearling Sale.

The build up to the two-day auction, on June 2 and 3, has intensified with Thursday’s online release of the catalogue, and the sale has in recent years been responsible for producing the likes of Mornington Glory (Shalaa), Stretan Angel (Harry Angel), Yellow Brick (The Mission) and Behemoth (All Too Hard).

This year’s line-up features 418 lots (plus supplementaries) by a spread of 119 individual sires – 19 of them with members of their first Australian crop.

As well as the Magic Millions Race Series, buyers are in for a treat with 289 lots at the sale being BOBS eligible, while many more are set to reap QTIS and VOBIS rewards.

“This is a sale that has a remarkable record for producing high class gallopers right around the world,” Magic Millions managing director Barry Bowditch said.

“Horses purchased from the National Yearling Sale have won races such as the Golden Slipper, Victoria Derby, Dubai Golden Shaheen, AJC Oaks, Rosehill Guineas, Memsie Stakes, Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes, AJ Moir Stakes, Kelt Capital Stakes and New Zealand 2,000 Guineas.

“This year’s catalogue will see youngsters by all the country’s leading sires go under the hammer and the majority are eligible to be paid up for the $20 million plus Magic Millions Race Series with 28 races across six states each year for horses of all ages – including the $1 million National 2YO Classic, with the 2025 edition on 23 May under lights at the Gold Coast.

“Over recent years the sale has been a happy hunting place for traders looking for a future breeze-up or trial and racetrack star.”
