Sassy Boom’s dam tops Magic Millions Digital Sale
Harbour Fun (Harbour Watch), the dam of Group 2 winner Sassy Boom (Spirit Of Boom), topped the latest Magic Millions Digital Sale which concluded on Wednesday.
Offered by Eureka Stud, she was secured by Hong Kong based buyer Shì shì lái ma for $95,000, the proven producer looking well bought given her 100 per cent record from three runners to date and the fact she is carrying a full-sibling to 2024 Angus Armanasco Stakes (Gr 2, 1400m) winner Sassy Boom.
Alongside that success, the Danny O’Brien-trained Sassy Boom also landed the Magic Millions Tasmanian 2YO Classic (1200m) and was stakes-placed in the Adelaide Guineas (Listed, 1600m). Sassy Boom will go under the hammer at May’s Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on the Gold Coast.
“We’re delighted to have sold Harbour Fun on the Magic Millions April Digital Sale,” vendor David Johnson said.
“The team at Magics were very helpful in assisting us with the listing and keeping us up to date with any phone calls they received regarding the mare. We felt the mare would stand out on the platform and she sold accordingly.”
Among other highlights, Group-placed Tasmanian mare Jaguar Stone (Spieth) realised $27,500 to the bid of Philip Bingley who will keep the mare in the region.
A dispersal of shares from the estate of the late Tony Halloran also attracted strong interest, headlined by a 12.5 per cent share in three-time winner Larado (Toronado), who sold for $15,000 after 32 bids.
Entries are now open for the next Magic Millions Digital Sale (April 17–22), with nominations closing on April 15. Group-winning and Group 1-placed mare Admiration Express (My Admiration) has already been confirmed as a key entry. To lodge an entry, click here.
