Anamoe breeding right sells for $450,000 on Day 1 of April (Late) Sale

A breeding right in boom first season sire Anamoe (Street Boss) topped the opening day of the Inglis Digital April (Late) Online Sale, selling to Bangaloe Stud’s Julia Ritchie for $450,000.

While the April (Late) Sale will officially end on Thursday with the inaugural Australian Broodmare Sale Session, Wednesday’s results provided a strong start to what is the first ever Inglis Digital auction to close out across multiple days.

The Anamoe breeding right was offered by Aristia Park on behalf of John Guscic, who said: “Selling the Anamoe breeding right through Inglis Digital was a seamless process – their team was incredibly professional, proactive and supportive every step of the way.

“I’m very grateful for their expertise and reach. To the new owner, I wish them the very best of luck.’’

The purchase for Ritchie came 12 months to the day after she was the successful bidder in a Zoustar (Northern Meteor) share in the Inglis Digital April (Late) Sale, but this time it was a breeding right in Anamoe, whose yearlings sold up to $1.1 million in his first crop to the sales this year.

“I’ve been accruing a quality broodmare band over the past few years and as such I’m now accruing a quality bunch of stallion shares and breeding rights that work for my mares,’’ Ritchie said.

“I was bidding away today in the regular increments and then I just had a mic drop moment and put in one bigger bid to try and speed up the process and it worked.

“Anamoe has done such a good job early, he’s producing popular young horses and I’m sure they’ll shine on the track later this year and into the future so I wanted to get in early and be part of the Anamoe journey.’’

In total, Wednesday’s opening session of the April (Late) Sale grossed $1,738,050 at an 84 per cent clearance rate. Thursday’s Australian Broodmare Sale Session closes from 10am.
