Debonairly, who won a barrier trial over 807 metres at Warwick Farm on 3 December, was most impressive in scoring easily on debut at Warwick Farm on Wednesday. She was smartly away from barrier four in the five-runner field under Kerrin McEvoy, went straight to the front and then travelled strongly (racing in blinkers). Debonairly got a good break rounding the home turn and was untroubled from that point to score easily by four and three quarter lengths in a time of 1:04.08.

Debonairly is the sixth foal out of Crystal Choir (Singspiel) and becomes the mares fourth winner from six foals to race with these are headed by the Group Three placed and Listed-winner Corsaire (Anabaa). Unplaced herself, Crystal Choir is out of the Haydock winner Crystal Ring (Kris) whose six winners are headed by the German Group One winner Catella (Generous), while Debonairly’s third dam produced the Group One winners and sires Glint Of Gold (Mill Reef) and Diamond Shoal (Mill Reef).

Crystal Choir has a yearling colt by Zoustar (Northern Meteor) and missed to All Too Hard (Casino Prince) last year. Her Zoustar colt is catalogued as Lot 745 for next month’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the draft of Milburn Creek on behalf of Makybe.
