Harron snaps up Satin Love for $560,000

Well-credentialed mare Satin Love (Snitzel) topped yesterday’s Inglis Digital August (Early) Sale, selling to James Harron Bloodstock for $560,000 as one of eight lots to realise $100,000 or more.

Offered to dissolve a partnership, the Group 3-placed Satin Love was sold carrying a foal by Arrowfield Stud shuttler Maurice (Screen Hero).

Harron purchased Satin Love as a yearling and raced her with partners including Belinda Bateman, Rob Love and Arrowfield Stud, so had no qualms in purchasing the mare to enjoy the next phase of her career as a broodmare.

“I’ve got a lot of confidence buying mares I’ve had a connection with all the way through from a yearling and this is a mare who has really continued to develop and blossom,’’ Harron said.

“She’s due to foal down her Maurice in the next fortnight and then we’ll make a decision as to who she visits next.”

Yesterday’s second-top lot was Listed-placed Warm Smile (New Approach), a mare whose dam is a half-sister to nine-time Group 1 winner Anamoe (Street Boss).

Offered by Merricks Station as agent, Warm Smile sold to Bulla Thoroughbreds for $350,000.

The August (Early) Sale grossed $3,860,200. Entries for the Inglis Digital August (Late) Sale are now open and will remain so until midnight next Wednesday, August 16.

Already confirmed for the auction is three-time Group winning mare Flying Mascot (Tavistock), who is being offered as a breeding prospect. The August (Late) Sale will run from August 18-23. To enter click here.
