Noverre to stand for $10,000 as Waikato release 2022 service fees

Savabeel’s (Zabeel) son and heir apparent Noverre will stand for an introductory fee of $10,000 (all fees plus GST) when the New Zealand 2,000 Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) winner joins his sire on the Waikato Stud roster after the farm yesterday announced details of the stallion fees for the 2022 season.

The line up is headed by the seven-time New Zealand Champion and leading Australasian sire of stakes winners, Savabeel, who stood for a fee of $100,000 last year but whose fee for this up-coming season is listed as private.

Joining the pair on the seven-string roster will be Super Seth (Dundeel) and Ocean Park (Thorn Park) whose fees remain unchanged at $35,000 and $30,000 respectively, Tivaci (High Chaparral) who has risen from $12,500 to $20,000 and Ardrossan (Redoute’s Choice) whose fee has doubled to $6,000. Banquo (Written Tycoon) rounds out the line up at an unchanged $4,000.

Continuing on from last year’s extremely successful racing season where Waikato Stud was crowned top breeder and leading vendor at Karaka, the current season has been one of the best in the farm’s history.

The Waikato brand has been carried to victory on the shoulder of Group 1 winners Probabeel (Savabeel) in the Caulfield Stakes (Gr 1, 200m), Tiptronic (O’Reilly) in the Zabeel Classic (Gr 1, 2000m), Never Been Kissed (Tivaci) in the Flight Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m) and Mo’unga (Savabeel) in the Winx Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m), as well as by Noverre in the New Zealand 2,000 Guineas.

“Australasian racing is the world pinnacle at the moment and we live to be a part of it,” Waikato Stud principal Mark Chittick said.

“We want what we breed and rear to succeed. We want the breeders that send their mares to our stallions to succeed. We want the trainers that have our progeny to succeed. The last few years, and especially the last 12 months, have been such an exciting and buoyant time for our industry and for all those involved in our stud.

“Savabeel is a once-in-a-lifetime stallion, while Ocean Park keeps hitting those top marks and Tivaci is following suit with his exciting start at stud.

“And of course the latest highlight has been the arrival of our newest stallion and Savabeel’s heir apparent, in Noverre. He’s let down beautifully and is a fantastic addition to our roster, which is rounded out by our son of Written Tycoon, Banquo. We’re really looking forward to the coming season.”
