Having her third start and first in Australia, Rosa Carolina broke well from the gates and was taken forward to lead. She then travelled well in front and quickened the pace on turning for home. In the straight Rosa Carolina drew right away from her eight rivals to score a two and a half length victory.
Rosa Carolina is the third foal out of the three-time Listed winner Ombre Rose (O’Reilly) who has also produced the Singapore Group Two-placed Room For Excuse (No Excuse Needed) and her victory provided her dam with her third winner from as many foals to race.
Her second dam is the dual winner Lady Chanele (Citidancer) who produced eight winners from nine foals to race and is a half-sister to the Group Two winner and the 1992 The BMW (registered as: H E Tancred Stakes) runner-up Aquidity (Avaray) and the Moonee Valley Gold Cup (Gr 2, 2500m) winner The Sportsman (Kilimanjaro).
Ombre Rose was not covered in 2015 with her last foal being a two-year-old colt by No Excuse Needed (Machiavellian).
